Administrator role supporting a well-established law firm in Gateshead on a 6-month maternity cover contract. The role involves supporting solicitors and fee earners with day-to-day tasks, ensuring the smooth running of the office and maintaining a professional, welcoming environment.
Job Responsibility:
Provide general administrative support to solicitors and fee earners
Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence professionally and efficiently
Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, letters, and reports
Maintain accurate case files and update the case management system
Schedule appointments, meetings, and manage team calendars
Assist with scanning, printing, photocopying, and filing
Welcome clients and visitors, offering a friendly and professional front-of-house service
Handle all incoming and outgoing post
Support compliance tasks, including ID checks and document verification
Ensure confidentiality and data security at all times
Requirements:
Previous administration experience (legal or professional services preferred, but not essential)
Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
A polite, confident communication style
The ability to work proactively and manage multiple priorities
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Experience using a case management system (desirable)
A positive team-focused attitude with a willingness to support colleagues
