Job Description:

The CTS Enterprise Analytics Services organization is seeking a skilled and proactive Starburst and Business Intelligence Tools Administrator Operations Lead to manage, maintain, and optimize our enterprise data query platform based on Starburst Enterprise and Tableau, Cognos, and MicroStrategy environments. Responsibilities include ensuring high platform availability, security, and performance, managing user access, and enabling efficient data access across multiple business units.

Job Responsibility:

Administer, support, govern, and maintain Starburst, Tableau, Cognos and MicroStrategy environments
Install, configure, and manage Starburst software
Manage system availability, reliability, and failover strategies
Implement and tune resource groups and query limits
Monitor servers for performance issues and enhancement opportunities
Manage user access, authentication, and role-based access control
Ensure compliance with security and data privacy policies
Lead installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching of Tableau Server/Tableau Cloud
Optimize workbook and dashboard performance
Troubleshoot connectivity, metadata issues, and platform production issues
Provide technical assistance and develop standard operating procedures
Forecast platform capacity requirements and infrastructure scaling
Collaborate with teams for automation and infrastructure optimization
Act as subject matter expert for platforms and provide advanced support
Publish best practices and oversee disaster recovery strategies
Design and automate complex processes

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field
8+ years IT experience in the areas of Starburst and BI Tools Administration
5+ years of Linux, Shell scripting experience
Starburst Certified Practitioner certification
Tableau Certified Associate or Server Certified Professional
Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Kubernetes-based deployments
Strong communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration abilities
Team player with a willingness to share knowledge, cross-train, and learn new technologies
Flexible, hardworking, self-motivated, and positive outlook with the ability to handle challenging initiatives
Ability to prioritize, organize, make decisions, and problem-solve under pressure
Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a geographically diverse team
