We are currently recruiting for an Administrative Officer (AO) to join Watford County Court, part of HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS). This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, customer-focused individual to join a busy court environment, providing vital administrative and operational support to help ensure the efficient delivery of justice. You'll play a key role in supporting court hearings, maintaining accurate records, assisting court users and stakeholders, and ensuring court operations run smoothly.
Job Responsibility
Prepare all administrative documentation for court hearings
Provide professional support to court users, legal professionals and stakeholders via telephone, face-to-face interactions and written correspondence
Signpost customers to the appropriate HMCTS services and provide accurate information
Support users with a range of enquiries, including those with complex needs
Assist with complaints in line with HMCTS procedures
Identify and report any health and safety concerns within the court building
Process casework in accordance with HMCTS procedures and performance standards
Maintain accurate electronic and paper case files
Handle confidential information securely and in line with data protection requirements
Support jury administration, including attendance, deferrals and expense processing
Assist with court listings and scheduling to ensure efficient use of judicial time
Provide administrative support to members of the judiciary where required
Assist with enforcement activities, financial assessments and fine collection
Produce basic statistical and financial reports
Support health and safety procedures, including facility checks and issue reporting
Requirements
Previous administration or office experience
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and database systems
Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Professional and confident when dealing with members of the public and external stakeholders
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
