Job Description:

United Synagogue is seeking Technical Staff to support the smooth, safe and efficient running of Tribe Summer Camp. This hands‑on role is essential to ensuring camp spaces, equipment and daily operations run to a high standard.

Job Responsibility:

  • Set up, test, monitor and pack down equipment (sports, AV, inflatables, games, water activities)
  • Support daily site operations including cleaning, turnarounds, mealtime set‑up/clear‑up and general maintenance tasks
  • Prepare activity spaces according to timetables and assist leaders with practical requirements
  • Report equipment faults promptly and remove unsafe items from use
  • Maintain organised, safe storage of all equipment and materials
  • Assist with off‑site driving tasks such as restocking or transport, where required
  • Support free‑time activities and help run the tuck shop when needed
  • Follow all safeguarding, health & safety and incident‑reporting procedures

Requirements:

  • Practical, reliable and able to work efficiently in a busy camp environment
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience in operations, logistics, maintenance or similar practical roles
  • Good attention to detail
  • able to follow instructions and routines
  • Knowledge of Orthodox Jewish practice
  • Full UK driving licence

Nice to have:

  • First Aid qualification
  • Experience in youth, camp, event or site‑operations environments
