Job Responsibility:
Oversee the complete patient admission and registration process, adhering strictly to organizational policies
Accurately collect and document essential patient demographic and insurance information
Verify patient eligibility and obtain necessary signatures on all legal and registration-related documents
Process and collect patient co-payments, deductibles, and deposits
Manage and safeguard patient valuables in accordance with established departmental guidelines
Efficiently scan all relevant documentation into the document management system by the end of each shift
Utilize various online systems to gather comprehensive insurance and patient demographic data
Prioritize tasks effectively during high-volume periods to enhance customer service, operational efficiency, and financial benefits
Collaborate closely with colleagues and clinical staff, providing necessary patient-related materials promptly
Update patient notifications and crossovers in a timely and accurate manner
Provide sensitive, timely, and appropriate customer service for patient activity, including obtaining authorization for patient visitors from clinical staff
Distribute Notice of Privacy Practices in compliance with regulations and organizational policy
Ensure office equipment is functional and be prepared with downtime procedures and workaround solutions
Contribute to a positive and cooperative team environment, offering and seeking assistance as needed, and performing high-quality work with minimal supervision
Attend department meetings, workshops, and in-services to stay informed and develop professionally
Maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external partners, such as emergency services and regulatory bodies
Requirements:
Be authorized to work in the United States
Not require sponsorship of any kind for the duration of the assignment
Be able to work on a W-2 basis
High school diploma or equivalent
Proficiency in typing at a minimum of 30 words per minute
Demonstrated ability to navigate and utilize multiple computer programs simultaneously
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated with proven ability to prioritize and manage tasks effectively
Flexibility to work at both stationary and mobile workstations, including sitting and standing
Capacity to work collaboratively within a diverse team in a sensitive and demanding environment
