We are looking for a detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team in Albany, New York. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in supporting the Emergency Management Unit by assisting with the development, maintenance, and revision of various plans related to emergency management, hazard mitigation, and resiliency. This role offers a unique opportunity for individuals eager to contribute to meaningful projects while honing their organizational and project management skills.
Job Responsibility:
Coordinate and facilitate planning processes and meetings from initial concept development to full plan implementation
Develop and maintain emergency management procedures, checklists, job aids, and operational plans for preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation activities
Conduct detailed research to create, update, and improve emergency management plans and procedures
Track and oversee the progress of multiple unit activities, ensuring deadlines are met and proper resources are allocated
Collaborate with internal teams to review major planning documents annually, identify gaps, and prioritize planning efforts
Work closely with external partners to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout planning initiatives
Lead special projects and provide support on additional tasks as assigned
Ensure all documentation and submissions meet organizational standards and deadlines
Maintain strong communication with stakeholders to facilitate clarity and consistency across all projects
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Eligibility to work in the United States
Excellent writing, organizational, and project management skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to conduct thorough research and apply analytical skills to develop actionable plans
Proven capability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners
Demonstrated leadership and facilitation skills
