This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering excellent customer service. The role involves supporting a busy medical practice with a variety of administrative tasks essential to its daily operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Serve as the first point of contact at the front desk, welcoming patients and visitors professionally and courteously
  • Handle incoming phone calls, directing inquiries appropriately and providing accurate information
  • Manage patient scheduling, ensuring appointments are efficiently organized and updated
  • Perform data entry tasks with precision, maintaining accurate records in electronic health and practice management systems
  • Verify insurance information and assist with patient check-in and check-out processes
  • Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems, such as Allscripts, to manage patient data effectively
  • Support the practice with general administrative tasks to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations by signing a confidentiality agreement
  • Collaborate with team members to provide coverage as needed and adapt to varying workloads
  • Uphold a strong commitment to patient care and customer service in all interactions

Requirements

  • Previous experience in administrative roles, preferably within a medical office environment
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • experience with Allscripts is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in office productivity tools, including Excel
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a busy, dynamic environment
