Our client, a reputable government department, is hiring for a temporary Administrative Officer to support the efficient running of courts and tribunals in Carlisle. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a vital public service, with potential for extension. What you'll be doing: * Preparing and organising court, tribunal, and meeting documents * Managing files, data entry, and updating records on internal systems * Handling post, booking meeting rooms, and supporting training activities * Drafting correspondence, minutes, and reports * Clerking civil and family courts, ensuring all materials are ready * Assisting court users, scheduling, serving documents, and executing warrants * Responding to face-to-face, phone, and written enquiries * Processing casework including court orders, fines, and legal aid * Checking and verifying documents and records for accuracy * Collecting information for reports and statistical analysis * Communicating effectively with judiciary, court staff, and external stakeholders What you'll bring: * Strong administrative skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office * Excellent written and verbal communication * Ability to follow detailed processes and instructions * Flexibility to work across different offices if required * A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement Additional details: * Location: Carlisle * Contract: 3 months, with potential extension * Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday * Pay rate: £12.86/hour, rising to £13.25 after 12 weeks * Benefits include weekly pay, holiday entitlement, and pension scheme If you're ready to make a difference in a dynamic environment, apply now with your CV in WORD format.
