Administration Officer (AO) Ministry of Justice Location: Gloucester, GL1 2DE Pay Rate: £12.86 per hour Contract: Temporary until October 2026 (with potential extension) Start Date: Immediate Make an Impact Where It Matters This is an opportunity to step into a meaningful role within the Ministry of Justice, supporting the day-to-day running of a busy court environment. As an Administration Officer, you'll play a key part in ensuring cases progress smoothly while providing essential support to judges, legal professionals, and members of the public. This is more than a typical admin role, it offers variety, responsibility, and real insight into how the justice system operates. What You'll Be Doing You'll be part of a collaborative team, taking on a dynamic role that combines administration, customer interaction, and operational support. Your responsibilities will include: Managing incoming emails and correspondence from court users, including litigants, judges, and legal representatives Accurately logging and updating case documents on internal systems Supporting court hearings, including clerking duties where required Assisting visitors at the public counter and providing a professional front-of-house service Handling telephone enquiries as you become more established in the role Completing a range of administrative tasks including data entry, document management, and general office support This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same, and your work will directly contribute to the efficiency of court proceedings. What We're Looking For We're seeking individuals who are confident, reliable, and motivated to learn. You'll thrive in this role if you: Communicate clearly and confidently with a wide range of people Are comfortable using IT systems and Microsoft Office packages Can work independently while also contributing to a team environment Take initiative and approach tasks with a proactive mindset Have a friendly, professional, and approachable manner No previous experience is required, comprehensive training will be provided, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to build a career within the public sector.
