Job Description

Administration Officer - Medal Office (Public Sector). Our Public Sector client based in Gloucester, is seeking an Administration Officer to join their dedicated Medal Office team. This is a unique opportunity to play a meaningful part in honouring the service and achievements of our Armed Forces. As the Medal Office launches a new Wider Service Medal, you will be supporting a specialist project team focused on its processing, engraving, and distribution.

Job Responsibility

  • Ensure all names, rank, and service details are recorded and engraved accurately
  • Manage workloads effectively to meet daily targets and deadlines
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and applicants
  • Handle sensitive personal data with confidentiality and integrity
  • Input, verify, and maintain accurate records in secure databases
  • Review completed work to ensure compliance with official standards and policies
  • Collaborate within a structured team environment to achieve shared objectives
  • Respond to phone, email, and written enquiries, often involving sensitive or historical information

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and digital record systems
  • Ability to work methodically and maintain high standards under pressure
  • Security Clearance (SC) and three years of references must be in place prior to confirming a start date
