The Administration Officer is part of the Centre for Rural Health, which forms part of the Health Portfolio.The position is funded through the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training program which is aimed at improving the recruitment and retention of health professionals in rural and remote Australia. The Administration Officer will provide administrative support for the New Norfolk Rural Health Training Site. The role will involve undertaking a range of tasks to support effective site operations to enable the organisation, delivery and evaluation of place-based rural health training activities, research and evaluation, and community engagement.
Job Responsibility:
Provide high level administrative support to ensure the efficient day-to-day operations of the New Norfolk Rural Health Training site, enabling effective rural training delivery, research and evaluation, and community engagement
Respond to enquiries from internal and external stakeholders and liaise with other University departments and personnel
Assist with the planning and coordination of events and meetings together with follow-up actions as required
Provide efficient use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, email and internet software for preparation of correspondence, communications and reports to ensure administrative procedures and services are effective and efficient
Assist with the identification, collection and analysis of data and information to support CRH research and rural student support activity
Requirements:
Completion of a diploma level qualification in a relevant area, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people
Ability to exercise discretion, initiative and judgment, particularly when dealing with matters of a sensitive and confidential nature
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to self-direct and use personal judgement, initiative, and problem-solving abilities for day-to-day management
Demonstrated high-level skills in a range of computer software applications including word processing, database, spreadsheet, presentation software, email and the internet as a resource
hold Australian or New Zealand Citizenship, permanent residency or a valid visa that enables you to fulfil the requirements of this role
