Applications are invited for an Administration Manager to work across Central Inpatients (based at St Nicholas Hospital ) The successful candidate will be operationally responsible for the management of administrative staff, ensuring the delivery of key performance objectives are met, a budget holder, complete recruitment, provide leadership to all and direct supervision to Band 4 staff. The role will report directly to the Associate Director and will be part of the CBU management team, communicating with staff at all levels and representing the administrative service at senior management meetings and pathway meetings on a regular basis. We are looking for someone who has management and leadership expertise as the role involves a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality, the utilisation of negotiation and communication skills, demonstration of empathy, understanding and compassion, and the ability to deal with any challenging situations that may arise. The successful candidate will be reactive, responsive and flexible to the needs of the teams within the service and the administrative staff who work with them.
Job Responsibility:
To be a key member of the collective management team, providing day to day support to operational Clinical Leads, and Managers and admin staff alike
communicate with senior clinicians and represent administrative staff at meetings as and when required
To have operational responsibility for administration services within Central Inpatients ensuring all delivery and performance objectives are met and be responsible for the management and leadership of administration staff
To support Central Inpatients in the achievement of its financial, performance and operational objectives, ensuring workforce, accommodation and equipment resources are used optimally throughout
Fact finding of complaints, grievances and disciplinary action relating to administration staff within the Present findings to the Associate Director or investigatory panel's when/if identified as the lead professional for administration as directed by the Associate Director
Requirements:
Degree Level qualification, Management Certificate or equivalent management experience
Evidence of continuous professional development
Good computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Patient Information Systems e.g. RIO
Knowledge of issues of working with confidential information and understanding the need for confidentiality
Has the ability to relate objectives and actions to the strategic aims of the organisation
Significant experience in administration and secretarial management. Must have experience managing staff and dealing with the public
Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
Evidence of implementing and leading on change
Ability to analyse complex problems and to develop practical and workable solutions to address these
Able to exercise independent judgement and initiative and take responsibility for actions
Ability to demonstrate negotiating and influencing skills
Excellent communication, organisational, people management, time management, negotiation, analytical skills, decision making, problem solving and report writing skills

Previous management experience preferably within the NHS
