Job Description

Clerical/Admin Officer - Temporary Contract at Imphal Barracks, York. Our client, a reputable organisation based at Imphal Barracks in York, is seeking a dedicated Clerical/Admin Officer to support a major library revamp project. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a significant transformation, working on-site from July 2026 until September 2026, with potential for extension.

Job Responsibility

Moving and handling large volumes of paper files for shredding and storage
Operating heavy-duty trolleys and performing manual handling tasks, including lifting, bending, twisting, and working at height
Recording the movement of files accurately using a computer system
Ensuring all activities comply with health and safety standards
Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information throughout the process

Requirements

Experience in manual handling or completion of a Manual Handling/Health & Safety course (preferred)
Good IT skills, familiar with Microsoft Office or Google Suite
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Comfortable with physical tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods
Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team

Nice to have

Experience in manual handling or completion of a Manual Handling/Health & Safety course (preferred)
