Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, is seeking an adjunct faculty member in the School of Law. Job Responsibility:
Prepare, plan and teach assigned courses
Hold office hours (amount determined in consultation with Department Chair)
Create and grade assignments, including submitting grades according to established deadlines
Be fully responsible for course planning, delivering class sessions, creating and collecting assignments, submitting grades
Be available to students for office hours for one hour per week per course (or more if needed depending on the course, program and department)
Requirements:
Degree in the area of expertise the adjunct is applying to teach in (or a closely related field)
Experience teaching in a classroom setting
Evidence of teaching effectiveness, including the ability to effectively respond to the academic needs of learners from diverse backgrounds
Experience using classroom strategies and pedagogies to advance equity and inclusion
Ability to work on-site in typical office setting and participate in in-person meetings with colleagues: 5 days/week
Ability to remain in a stationary position for a prolonged period: Daily (>75% of time)
Ability to move about on foot to accomplish tasks: Daily (>75% of time)
Ability to move or transport objects up to a specified weight: Often (50%-75% of time)
Ability to focus on detailed tasks for extended periods: Daily (>75% of time)
Ability to identify and resolve issues effectively: Daily (>75% of time)
