Adjunct Faculty - Cultural Anthropology

• Provide a quality learning experience for Holyoke Community College students on a semester basis
• Report to a dean and perform instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner
• Distribute and review the course syllabus during the first class meeting
• Forward the dean a course syllabus no later than the end of the first week of classes
• Utilize active learning methods and a variety of instructional strategies to assist learners in meeting course objectives
• Remain abreast of ongoing developments and practices in professional content area
• Arrange for acquisition and preparation of appropriate materials and equipment in collaboration with the area dean
• Be prompt and accurate in recording and reporting student data including final grade reports
• Be supportive of students' learning goals
• Be aware of and recommend campus services to students as needed
• Attend all scheduled classes
• Follow procedures if missing a class and provide an alternate assignment.

• Master's Degree in Anthropology or related area
• Firm grounding in the subject matter of the course being offered
• Experience using an online learning management system to support classroom instruction (Canvas preferred)
• Commitment to and demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff & student body.

Equivalency: applicants who do not meet the stated qualifications may submit a written explanation of how their background and experience have prepared them for the position.
