The Kinesiology and Sport Management Department in the School of Education at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, is seeking an American Red Cross CPR/First Aid Instructor to teach a 1-credit undergraduate course that certifies students in Adult and Pediatric CPR, First Aid and AED use.
Job Responsibility:
Teach Red Cross–approved CPR, AED, and First Aid curriculum in accordance with American Red Cross Instructor standards and Gonzaga University academic expectations
Evaluate student performance through skills assessments and written evaluations following Red Cross certification protocols
Administer and process American Red Cross certification materials through the Red Cross Learning Center
Provide timely, constructive feedback and submit grades in alignment with Gonzaga’s academic policies
Requirements:
Current American Red Cross Instructor Certification
Available for the specific weekends in the Spring semester to teach the course
Section 1 is Saturday and Sunday, February 28-March 1, 2026 and Section 2 is March 28-29, 2026
The course is 8:30 am - 4:30 pm on Saturdays and 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Bachelor's Degree
Nice to have:
Prior teaching or training experience, ideally in a higher-education environment
Experience in Canvas
Additional Red Cross instructor credentials (e.g., CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers, Basic Life Support)
