Job Description:

The Kinesiology and Sport Management Department in the School of Education at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, is seeking an American Red Cross CPR/First Aid Instructor to teach a 1-credit undergraduate course that certifies students in Adult and Pediatric CPR, First Aid and AED use.

Job Responsibility:

  • Teach Red Cross–approved CPR, AED, and First Aid curriculum in accordance with American Red Cross Instructor standards and Gonzaga University academic expectations
  • Evaluate student performance through skills assessments and written evaluations following Red Cross certification protocols
  • Administer and process American Red Cross certification materials through the Red Cross Learning Center
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback and submit grades in alignment with Gonzaga’s academic policies

Requirements:

  • Current American Red Cross Instructor Certification
  • Available for the specific weekends in the Spring semester to teach the course
  • Section 1 is Saturday and Sunday, February 28-March 1, 2026 and Section 2 is March 28-29, 2026
  • The course is 8:30 am - 4:30 pm on Saturdays and 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
  • Bachelor's Degree

Nice to have:

  • Prior teaching or training experience, ideally in a higher-education environment
  • Experience in Canvas
  • Additional Red Cross instructor credentials (e.g., CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers, Basic Life Support)
