At Pebbles Academy Dunfermline, we are looking for an Adapt Learning Practitioner (ALP) to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to support children and young people who have experienced barriers to education, helping them re-engage with learning, develop confidence and achieve positive outcomes. Working alongside teachers, therapists and residential colleagues, you will play a key role in delivering personalised learning experiences that enable every young person to thrive. Your Role As an Adapt Learning Practitioner, you will build positive relationships with pupils and provide practical, emotional and educational support both within the school and, where appropriate, in our residential homes or through online learning. You will work closely with teaching staff to deliver engaging learning experiences tailored to each learner's strengths, interests, and aspirations. Every day is different, requiring creativity, flexibility and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people.
Job Responsibility
Support teachers in delivering personalised learning programmes across a range of curriculum areas
Work with pupils individually and in small groups to build confidence, independence and engagement in learning
Deliver learning both within the school, in residential homes and through remote learning where appropriate
Support the implementation of therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches to learning
Monitor, record and celebrate pupil progress using our digital learning platforms
Contribute to planning, preparing and adapting learning resources to meet individual needs
Deliver therapeutic and wellbeing activities that support pupils' emotional regulation and personal development
Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals to ensure young people receive consistent support
Promote high expectations while maintaining a nurturing, relationship-based approach

Holds the right to work in the UK
Holds a full UK manual driving licence
Nice to have
Knowledge of trauma-informed practice, attachment theory, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), therapeutic parenting or positive behaviour support
Experience supporting children and young people with Additional Support Needs
Experience working within education, residential childcare or youth support settings
An understanding of restorative and relational approaches
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

Salary of £27,000 per annum
12-month fixed term contract
