Applications are invited for enthusiastic Acute Medicine Consultants to join our expanding team managing patients within our in-patient and 'Same Day' units. The successful applicants will form part of and support in the development of services and pathways to assist with developing our new Integrated Front Door.
Job Responsibility:
Multidisciplinary team working
Providing evidence-based care for patients
Continuing responsibility for the care of patients
Development of subspecialty interests
Teaching, examination and accreditation duties
Provision of cover for Consultant colleagues' periods of leave
Participation in clinical audit and in continuing medical education
Conducting suitable duties in cases of emergencies
Participate in an out of hours consultant rota
Support policy and strategy development
Contribute to the leadership and development of Services
Ensure effective communication and involvement of staff
Assist in the cost-effective utilisation of resources
Work within the Trusts framework for Clinical Governance and Risk
Undertake direct supervision of junior colleagues
Undertake investigations and report writing for incidents
Participate in clinical effectiveness activities
Support the production of clinical governance and quality strategy plans
Requirements:
Fully registered with the GMC
MRCP (UK) or equivalent
Entry on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at interview
Clinical training/experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT
Expertise in full range of medical conditions
Ability to lead a multi-professional team and take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
