Seeking an Acupuncturist for UH Connor Whole Health at Parma and Westlake locations. The schedule is Mon-Fri days, no weekends or holidays. Experience is preferred but will consider licensed new grads. Job Responsibility
Practicing Acupuncturist: Perform quality acupuncture treatments and Oriental Medicine procedures on patients following prescribed techniques and protocols.
Maintain and follow standard quality, safety and infection control policies and procedures.
Collect medical histories and general health information from patients.
Formulate, recommend and clearly communicate a treatment plan for each patient, including proper point location and needle positions, needle depth and contraindications.
Consider Western medical procedures in health assessment, health care team communication, and referrals.
Maintain detailed and complete records of health care plans, treatments and prognosis, and utilize EMR for all patient records.
Monitor patient health progress for constant assessment of techniques and procedures needed for their optimal health.
Refer to other CIHN modalities, providers and classes when appropriate.
Develop relationships with targeted providers and provider groups at University Hospitals to develop their understanding, acceptance and utilization of acupuncture through communication with referring providers and outreach to providers within select specialties.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Master’s Degree in acupuncture and/or the science of Oriental Medicine. (Required)
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate the benefits of acupuncture to new audiences – especially physicians who have not yet utilized acupuncture as a part of the care plan for their patients. (Required proficiency)
Clear understanding of and ability to articulate scientific evidence supporting acupuncture. (Required proficiency)
Knowledge of acupuncture and Chinese medicine principals, treatments and procedures. (Required proficiency)
This includes diagnosis, performing acupuncture and Chinese medicine therapies, and formulating and carrying out treatments plans (Required proficiency)
Minimum of one year of practice in the State of Ohio (Preferred)
Current certification with the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Current license in the State of Ohio with the State Medical Board of Ohio (Preferred)
