Job Description:

Sentry is seeking an analytical and results driven individual to expand our actuarial capabilities in Claims. This position will be responsible for developing new analytical tools and capabilities to evaluate trends and performance in Claims; monitoring results, identifying issues and trends, and communicating throughout the organization. This is a high-profile position with frequent interaction with executive leadership throughout Sentry. This position will be part of the Reserving team, but will partner closely with our Claims teams.

Job Responsibility:

  • Independently lead the development of new Claims actuarial tools, leveraging Claims, Actuarial, and Analytics resources across the organization
  • Apply and recommend changes to actuarial and statistical methods and procedures
  • Identify trends and changes in Claims performance requiring further research or analysis
  • Summarize and analyze trend observations, analyze impact on profit and growth objectives and make recommendations when appropriate
  • Communicate results of analysis to leadership throughout the organization. You’ll be responsible for both the effective communication of results and producing supporting documentation for executive management

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience with an emphasis in mathematics or actuarial science
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
  • Membership as an Associate or Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong financial and analytical skills to lead, communicate, and implement results of actuarial analyses
