We are looking for a volunteer to run activity sessions at our Wakefield Services. Volunteering with Creative Support is a great way to enrich the lives of people with support needs while helping our staff to deliver person-centred services. Our Wakefield services support adults with a range of care and support needs. The people we support in Wakefield are particularly interested in taking part in indoor activities such as sensory play, board games and movie nights.
Job Responsibility:
Run activity sessions at our Wakefield Services
Work with staff to promote activities to the people we support
Plan for sessions in advance, preparing any necessary materials and/or equipment
Lead the activities, making them accessible for everyone
Consult people we support to plan engaging activities in line with their interests
Prepare for activities including set-up, moving tables and chairs if necessary
Lead activity sessions, engaging with people we support
Tidy up after activities, returning the room to normal
Report any safeguarding concerns to Creative Support staff members
Requirements:
Creative person with strong communication and leadership skills
Consult the people we support and plan a programme of activities in line with their interests
Understand and work within Creative Support Policies and procedures, respecting boundaries
Attend regular supervisions with your allocated volunteer supervisor and complete any training provided
