Requirements:
Completion of high school degree or the equivalent, and additional specialized training or experience in long term care
Ability to demonstrate creativity in the development and design of program activities
Ability to provide basic instruction through demonstration and hands-on assistance
Ability to demonstrate patience and tact when dealing with an emotionally upset, angry or disoriented resident
Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with nursing home residents and volunteers
Ability to demonstrate physical fitness to include light lifting (0-14 lbs), pushing or pulling, bending, squatting, reaching, assistance with ambulation and support of residents in the event of a fall
Ability to interact effectively with residents and families to include demonstration of keen listening and observation skills
Ability to prepare detailed notes and prepare accurate records
