Purpose: Provide extensive knowledge/expertise in environmental acoustics, sound measurement, and noise control services to support public and private clients. Conduct technical analyses, develop mitigation strategies, and deliver expert guidance in support of permitting, compliance, policy development, and community engagement for a wide range of projects.
Job Responsibility
Plan and execute noise impact assessments for mining, infrastructure, industrial, energy, transportation, commercial, and recreational projects
Develop and apply acoustical models (e.g., CadnaA) to predict sound propagation under varied environmental conditions
Design noise control and mitigation strategies for compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on permitting, planning, and environmental studies
Prepare and deliver technical reports, testimony, and public presentations to agencies, commissions, and courts
Contribute to the development of policies and best practices for noise management
Develop environmental noise analyses for industrial, utility, and transportation clients, to satisfy federal, state, or local acoustic criteria
Travel to projects to conduct ambient and operating sound surveys
Prepare technical deliverables, including environmental assessments, permitting documents, and compliance monitoring reports
Provide training and mentoring to colleagues on acoustic tools and methodologies
Stay current with advancements in noise control engineering, modeling techniques, and regulatory frameworks
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Acoustical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field required
Five or more (5+) years of professional experience in environmental noise analysis, modeling, and control
