The local buyer is responsible to run all local purchasing activities related to direct raw material for Connection Systems Tangier. The local buyer belongs to the EMEA Purchasing Operations Team, acting as interface within the EMEA purchasing team as well as to other functions on site. The local buyer reports to the local Purchasing Leader.
Job Responsibility:
Acting as APTIV purchasing representative to external suppliers for plant related activities
Representing APTIV purchasing in local project teams to ensure early involvement for new project launches, business transfers, engineering changes etc.
Ensure timely raw material availability for new launches through consistent follow-up of system readiness, material availability and alignment with EMEA purchasing teams to meet internal and external customer milestones
SAP data management (creation and maintenance of purchasing views, schedule agreements, purchase orders etc. / Master Data Maintenance (Vendor & Pricing Management) / New Vendor creation)
Maintaining oversight and ensure clarification on blocked invoices, working with internal and external stakeholders
Supporting plant operations in case of delivery issues with APTIV suppliers
Active support to meet local cost reduction targets
Supporting regional and global purchasing teams to ensure functional targets are reached and strategies are executed
Supporting the annual budget preparation for direct production material
Occasionally support and coordinate with regional indirect team for purchasing activities regarding local operations
Provide management reports and key performance data
Ensure that all local purchasing activities are carried out according to APTIV procedures and legal regulations
Requirements:
Master’s Degree in Economics, Business Administration or Engineering
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar position in purchasing, preferably in the automotive sector
Fluent in English and French
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
Strong analytical and negotiation skills
Project Management skills
Proficient skills in SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel)
Disciplined and assertive, high level of commitment, independent working style and hands-on mentality
Open mindset and willingness to learn
