Syndication and licensing is a key revenue driver for Telegraph to expand reach, protect our intellectual property, foster collaboration, and ultimately support and monetise the vital role of journalism in society. Supporting journalism and subscriptions first strategy: the role of content licensing to enhance brand advocacy and contribute to the long-term financial sustainability to continue serving readers and subscribers with reliable and informative news. The Accreditation Sales Manager is responsible for identifying, negotiating, and closing commercial licensing deals for The Telegraph Recommended and accreditation programs. This position requires a proactive salesperson who can manage the full sales lifecycle independently, from identifying high-potential prospects in buying guides to closing complex contracts with national and international brands. You will be a key driver of the licensing revenue stream, ensuring that our authoritative editorial content is leveraged by brands to drive their own retail success.
Job Responsibility:
Own the full sales cycle, focusing on converting endorsements of products and services into paid licensing agreements
Move beyond reactive leads
identify and pitch to high-value brands featured in Telegraph reviews across Tech, Home, Money, and Travel
Develop bespoke sales presentations that articulate the ROI of The Telegraph’s endorsement to marketing and brand managers
Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly individual revenue targets
Manage a portfolio of existing licensees, ensuring high renewal rates and identifying opportunities for multi-category deals
Handle objections and negotiate pricing and contract terms that reflect the premium value of The Telegraph brand
Maintain an accurate and active pipeline, providing reliable revenue forecasting to the Head of Accreditation Licensing
Ensure all licensed assets are used in accordance with strict brand guidelines and editorial standards
Work closely with the Editorial and Legal teams to ensure a smooth transition from an editorial "win" to a commercial licensing agreement
Monitor competitor licensing activity and stay updated on retail trends to refine sales tactics and product offerings
Requirements:
Demonstrable experience in media sales, B2B sales, or content licensing
Ability to work autonomously, prioritising high-value leads while maintaining a high level of daily output
Proven ability to sell and negotiate licensing agreements, including understanding pricing strategies, contract terms, and closing deals
An understanding of copyright law, licensing agreements, and intellectual property rights
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The ability to manage multiple licensing deals simultaneously, track progress, and meet deadlines
