Bridge Specialty Group is Seeking an Accounts Receivable Team Lead to join our growing team in Atlanta, GA. Under the general leadership of the Assistant Controller-Bridge Specialty Insurance Brokerage, the Accounts Receivable Team Leader is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Collections and Receivables team, managing the team, and completing the month-end process for receivables. Our company’s high standards of quality in service must be maintained while delivering well thought-out solutions. Travel is not required for this position as contact with customers and teammates is by phone and email correspondence.
Job Responsibility:
Responsible for department operational results by contributing to strategic plans, identifying areas of improvement, and guiding achievement of measurable service standards
Oversee all aspects of cash postings and collections process including researching and contacting producer-agents regarding discrepancies
Manage direct bill cash, processing & discrepancies
Maintains the aged AR balance to the minimum
Maintain accounting ledgers by posting monthly account transactions
Update receivables by coordinating and monitoring daily cash receipts and bank remittance transactions
Optimize receivable process and maintain updated SOPs with current process
Assist in document compilation during audits
Assist in hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff
Train and develop teammates on new systems and procedures
Ensure team adheres to internal accounting controls, and office protocols
Be cross trained in AR functions to support the team and provide coverage for absence (covering vacations, illness, or any other absences)
Manage team schedule and timecards
Conduct annual performance reviews, quarterly check-in meetings, monthly team meetings and ad-hoc training
Provide directions and respond to specific questions
Often responsible for overseeing or taking over complex cases and escalations
Answer questions from agents regarding balances and other inquiries
Handle complex accounts and all A/R escalations for resolution
Correspond with brokers via phone and email to respond to complex questions, investigate and resolve issues, and follow up on outstanding items
Ensure all correspondence and requests are documented and attached to the appropriate file in the appropriate systems
Review trust bank account reconciliations at month end and review all checks outstanding
Assist on intercompany balance tracking & reconciliation and assist on general ledger reconciliations
Complete critical elements required for month end close not limited to providing monthly accounts receivable aging information, identifying variances and discrepancies, forecasting policies that will be aged more than 59 days by month end, implementing corrective actions and balancing the receivables
Requirements:
Minimum education required: Associate degree
5 or more years experience in a similar position or industry
Proficient with MS Office Suite (ex: Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Nice to have:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting related discipline (preferred)
Experience with leading a team of at least 2 teammates.(preferred)
Some licensing or insurance related courses (preferred)
