Job Description

We are currently recruiting an energetic, results-focused post-secondary student to join our team this summer! This position offers an opportunity to gain experience and to learn more about our AR team, the Company, and the industry. As an Accounts Receivable Student, you will be responsible for payment application, and processing cheques received from our customers.

Job Responsibility

  • Processing incoming payments, accurately applying to the correct account and invoice
  • Making notes on any short and over payments for the Credit Dept to review
  • Preparing daily bank deposit.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary program (degree, diploma, or certificate) in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • Detail oriented with a passion for working with numbers and data entry
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility to meet changing work needs and demands
  • Ability to work independently and work effectively as a team player
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to thrive in a multi-tasking, deadline oriented, high volume, and fast-paced environment
  • PC skills - Windows, MS Office Suite, Excel, Great Plains accounting software.

  • Monitor multiple receivable categories and confirm that funds are allocated correctly across a large portfolio of billing accounts
  • Produce regular activity reports for electronic and wire payments and complete postings within established timelines
  • Assist with early-stage collections by preparing and sending payment reminder or collection correspondence as needed
  • Review account activity, investigate discrepancies, and support reconciliation efforts to keep receivable records current and accurate
