Job Description:

We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join a dynamic renovation company in Portland, Maine. This on-site role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in accounting or finance to contribute to a thriving team. The position is ideal for candidates who are detail-oriented and eager to grow their expertise in accounts receivable processes.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and process monthly billing statements with accuracy and attention to detail
Manage accounts receivable tasks, including posting invoices and recording cash receipts
Conduct collection efforts to ensure timely payments from clients
Reconcile account discrepancies and maintain accurate financial records
Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes
Support the integration of Sage accounting software for financial transactions
Collaborate with team members to streamline accounts receivable workflows
Handle AIA billing processes to ensure compliance and accuracy
Provide exceptional customer service when addressing billing inquiries
Assist in maintaining organized documentation for audit and compliance purposes

Requirements:

Completion of some college-level coursework in accounting or finance
At least one year of experience in accounts receivable or accounts payable roles
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting
Familiarity with Sage accounting software is preferred
Knowledge of AIA billing processes is a plus
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Effective communication skills for customer interaction and team collaboration
Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records
