We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to support trust and client account activities in New York, New York. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage receivables with precision, maintain accurate financial records, and uphold compliance standards in a detail-driven environment. The role will work closely with finance and business partners to ensure timely payment processing, account reconciliation, and reliable documentation across client-related transactions.
Job Responsibility:
Manage incoming payments, deposits, and fund movements for client trust and operating accounts while ensuring timely and accurate posting
Review and reconcile trust-related transactions to maintain compliance with internal controls and applicable financial guidelines
Oversee core accounts receivable activities, including preparing invoices or account statements, applying cash receipts, and tracking unpaid balances
Investigate billing or payment discrepancies and coordinate resolution efforts with clients and internal stakeholders
Maintain complete transaction records and supporting documentation to strengthen audit readiness and reporting accuracy
Partner with finance, billing, and operations teams to support month-end close activities and account reconciliation processes
Communicate with clients, attorneys, or other contacts regarding payment status, account questions, and outstanding receivables
Contribute to the preparation of audit support materials and other financial documentation related to trust account activity
Requirements:
Experience in accounts receivable, billing, cash application, and cash activity processing
Working knowledge of collections practices, preferably in a commercial or services setting
Ability to reconcile account activity accurately and identify inconsistencies in financial records
Familiarity with accounting or billing systems used for transaction processing and reporting
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage sensitive financial information responsibly
Effective written and verbal communication skills for interaction with clients and internal teams
Solid organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
