We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Nottingham, Maryland. This contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of receivable processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts receivable, billing, and reconciliation, and will thrive in a collaborative and detail-oriented environment.
Job Responsibility:
Generate accounts receivable invoices for tuition, contract services, special functions, and other transactions
Monitor and reconcile receivables with issued invoices, maintain aging schedules, and follow up with agencies to ensure timely payments
Match gift donations recorded in the general ledger with batch reports from the Fundraising department to ensure accurate documentation
Process purchase orders across departments, including inventory orders, while maintaining proper records
Oversee storeroom inventory by recording supplies received and disbursed, performing physical inventory counts, and reconciling monthly stock levels
Conduct monthly reconciliations of various general ledger receivables and liability accounts to ensure accuracy
Provide administrative support, including managing office supplies, researching financial data, handling mail operations, and maintaining secure documentation
Organize and maintain financial files systematically to ensure security and accessibility
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable or a related financial role
Proficiency in accounts receivable processes, including collections and billing functions
Strong knowledge of Excel and Word for financial documentation and reporting
Familiarity with purchasing activities and managing vendor relationships
Ability to reconcile accounts and maintain accurate financial records
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure data integrity
Capacity to perform physical tasks, such as lifting and moving packages, as part of inventory operations
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with various departments and external agencies
