We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join a chemicals manufacturing organization in Charlotte, North Carolina on a contract basis with the potential for a permanent opportunity. This position is ideal for someone who excels in managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate customer accounts, and supporting daily accounting operations in a fast-paced environment. The role will work closely with internal finance partners to help keep receivables current, resolve payment issues, and support overall cash flow accuracy.
Job Responsibility:
Process customer invoices, apply incoming payments, and maintain accurate accounts receivable records across daily transactions
Monitor outstanding balances, follow up with commercial customers on past-due accounts, and help reduce aging through consistent collections activity
Reconcile cash receipts and account activity to ensure payments are posted correctly and discrepancies are addressed promptly
Support billing operations by reviewing invoice details, correcting errors, and coordinating with internal teams to resolve account questions
Assist with sales tax-related receivable activities by maintaining accurate documentation and helping ensure financial records are complete
Partner with accounts payable and other accounting team members to support smooth day-to-day financial operations
Work within the company’s accounting platform to manage receivable workflows, update account information, and track transaction history
Prepare reports and account summaries for finance leadership to provide visibility into collections, cash activity, and open balances
Requirements:
Experience in accounts receivable within a business environment
Hands-on background in cash applications, cash activity posting, and account reconciliation
Experience managing commercial collections and communicating effectively with customers regarding outstanding balances
Working knowledge of billing processes and invoice dispute resolution
Familiarity with sales tax support as it relates to receivables and financial recordkeeping
Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a high-volume setting
Ability to collaborate effectively with accounting colleagues and support cross-functional finance processes
