Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in New Gloucester, Maine. This is a long-term contract opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in accounts receivable processes, cash applications, and commercial collections.

Job Responsibility:

Process and manage accounts receivable transactions, ensuring all payments are accurately recorded
Handle cash applications, reconciling payments to customer accounts promptly and accurately
Oversee commercial collections, including contacting clients to resolve outstanding balances and ensuring timely payments
Prepare and review billing statements to ensure correctness and compliance with company policies
Monitor cash activity, including deposits, transfers, and account balances, to maintain financial accuracy
Maintain detailed records of all receivable activities for reporting and auditing purposes
Collaborate with internal teams to address discrepancies and improve payment processes
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company procedures in all accounts receivable operations
Assist in preparing financial reports related to receivables and collections
Provide excellent customer service to clients regarding billing inquiries and payment issues

Requirements:

Proven experience in accounts receivable processes, including cash applications and collections
Strong knowledge of commercial collections practices and billing functions
Proficient in handling cash activity and reconciliations with accuracy
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and internal teams
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance standards
