We are looking for a skilled Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in North Charleston, South Carolina. Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and issue accurate invoices for residential and commercial services in a timely manner
  • Process and apply customer payments, including checks, credit cards, and lockbox transactions, using accounting systems
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to billing, payments, and disputes by collaborating with internal departments
  • Maintain detailed accounts receivable records, including aging schedules and supporting documentation
  • Monitor overdue accounts and assist with early-stage collection efforts to ensure timely payments
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding invoices, account statuses, and payment inquiries
  • Ensure adherence to company billing policies, internal controls, and accounting standards
  • Support month-end closing activities by performing reconciliations and generating reports
  • Assist with customer account setup, contract updates, and service adjustments as needed
  • Provide administrative support for accounting tasks and ensure efficient operations

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3–4 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or related accounting roles
  • Familiarity with industry-specific billing software, such as PestPac, is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with accounting systems
  • Knowledge of AR processes, payment applications, and fundamental accounting principles
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills

Nice to have

Experience in the pest control industry, particularly with residential and commercial services, is a plus
