We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to support financial follow-up activities for a Contract position based in New York, New York. In this role, you will help resolve outstanding balances, review rent and payment records for accuracy, and keep financial cases moving forward with careful attention to detail. Job Responsibility
Examine rent ledgers and payment histories to identify open balances, missing funds, posting issues, and other account discrepancies
Partner with finance stakeholders to arrange off-cycle payments and support agreements that address overdue amounts in an accurate and timely manner
Enter, monitor, and update arrears-related requests in internal systems while maintaining complete and organized case documentation
Communicate status updates on outstanding accounts to landlords, aftercare team members, and leadership to promote transparency and timely resolution
Reconcile ledger activity against expected subsidy and tenant payment streams across multiple assistance program types
Investigate irregularities such as subsidy variances, unapplied payments, landlord recording errors, and missing household contributions
Maintain dependable financial records in Salesforce, ensuring each payment, dispute, and resolution is documented correctly
Respond promptly to financial questions from property providers and collaborate across teams to support coordinated account resolution
Requirements
Experience in accounts receivable, billing, cash application, collections, or related financial operations
Strong ability to review ledgers and payment records with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Familiarity with reconciling account activity and identifying discrepancies in financial data
Ability to manage multiple active cases or priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-moving environment
Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with internal teams and external partners
Proficiency with CRM or financial tracking systems, including maintaining accurate case and payment documentation
Comfortable using spreadsheets and standard business software to organize and analyze financial information
