A small, well-established organization in Birmingham is seeking an Accounts Receivable Professional to join its close-knit accounting team. Job Responsibility:
Monitor customer account balances to ensure timely receipt of payments
Provide courteous and professional customer service via phone and email regarding billing questions and past-due accounts
Issue late notices and manage account status changes when necessary
Coordinate with internal teams regarding account reinstatements and adjustments
Communicate with legal counsel regarding accounts in collections or bankruptcy status
Process annual audit billings and ensure timely collection
Reconcile customer accounts and research discrepancies
Process invoices, payments, refunds, and account adjustments accurately
Assist with cash management and related accounting functions
Perform additional accounting duties as assigned
Requirements:
Prior experience in accounts receivable or customer billing
Strong customer service and communication skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams)
Ability to analyze accounts and clearly explain balances to customers
Self-motivated and able to work independently while contributing to a team environment
