Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida. This contract position offers an excellent opportunity for growth, with potential to advance into leadership and management roles. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in construction accounting and demonstrate confidence in handling complex billing and collection processes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, cash applications, and collections, with a focus on commercial projects
  • Process billing activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for AIA documents, lien releases, and waivers
  • Oversee job costing and construction accounting tasks using Sage 300 to maintain accurate financial records
  • Handle lien agreements and waivers, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual requirements
  • Collaborate with team members to address billing discrepancies and streamline processes for improved efficiency
  • Prepare and review pay applications, ensuring they align with project requirements and deadlines
  • Monitor and report on cash activity to support financial planning and decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and construction-specific documentation standards
  • Work proactively to identify and implement process improvements within the accounts receivable function

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in accounts receivable, with a strong focus on construction accounting
  • Proficiency in Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate software
  • Familiarity with AIA billing, lien waivers, and related construction documentation
  • Strong understanding of job costing and its application in commercial construction projects
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing financial processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and demonstrate confidence in decision-making
  • Strong communication skills to effectively address billing issues and interact with stakeholders

Nice to have:

Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role is a plus
