We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Rochester, New York. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to essential financial operations and ensuring accuracy in accounts receivable processes. The ideal candidate will bring a strong analytical mindset, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency in managing financial data, particularly in relation to grants and funding sources.
Job Responsibility:
Process incoming payments and ensure compliance with established financial policies and procedures
Accurately record, classify, and post accounts receivable data to maintain transparency and efficiency
Prepare detailed financial portfolios for funders and donors, ensuring all information is up-to-date
Generate voucher requests for local, county, and federal funding entities
Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to confirm payments are correctly posted and accounted for
Verify and prepare cash receipts for deposit, maintaining accuracy and proper documentation
Create monthly financial statements and reports to provide insights to leadership and ensure funding transparency
Collaborate with internal teams to maintain compliance and ensure accuracy in financial records
Assist with audit preparation for both internal and external financial reviews
Analyze financial documents related to grants and funding sources, ensuring proper allocation and reporting
Requirements:
Associate’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance required
Bachelor’s degree is preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, or general accounting with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
Familiarity with government contracts or grant funding processes is highly desirable
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to manage complex financial data
Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail, particularly when handling financial documentation
Knowledge of Accounts Receivable, cash applications, commercial collections, and billing functions
