Job Description:

Randstad is recruiting for an experienced Finance Officer with a strong background in Accounts Receivable to join a State Government Department on the Gold Coast. This is a full-time temporary assignment for 2–3 months, with potential for extension. The role is classified at the AO3 level and offers an hourly casual rate of $49.40 to $54.81 plus superannuation. Based in Southport and working Monday to Friday, this position is available for an immediate start. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a government project and play an important role in financial operations.

Job Responsibility:

Following up with customers on outstanding invoices and determining appropriate next steps
Investigating aged debt and liaising with third parties to understand and resolve non-payment issues
Reviewing and analysing outstanding accounts using internal systems and Excel
Identifying discrepancies or required adjustments and escalating to relevant teams for resolution
Preparing and coordinating the reissue of invoices where corrections or replacements are needed
Assisting with the preparation of documentation for accounts being referred to external collection services

Requirements:

Previous experience in accounts receivable and debt collection
Confident using Excel to manage and review data
Background in industries with billing or payment processes, such as health or insurance
Strong communication skills with the ability to follow up with internal and external stakeholders
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
A proactive mindset and ability to problem-solve and manage priorities
Strong attention to detail
