We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager to lead and oversee the operations of the Accounts Receivable department in Ashland, Virginia. This role requires a proactive leader dedicated to ensuring efficient billing, collections, and credit review processes while maintaining compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and supervisory experience, paired with exceptional organizational and communication skills.
Job Responsibility:
Manage and supervise the accounting team responsible for billing, collections, credit review, and customer account reconciliation
Oversee the preparation and accuracy of customer invoices, ensuring timely billing processes
Monitor and ensure customer payments, including credit card transactions, are correctly posted and processed
Follow up on outstanding balances through direct communication, including making collection calls when necessary
Collaborate with external collections agencies and legal counsel to address delinquent accounts
Administer credit reviews for new and existing customers to establish appropriate credit limits and assess financial reliability
Review agreements with new customers to verify all required documentation and account details are complete
Reconcile fuel inventory levels at company-owned sites on a daily basis to ensure accuracy
Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations related to accounting practices
Perform additional tasks as assigned to support departmental operations
Requirements:
Proven management and supervisory skills with the ability to lead a team effectively
Strong written and verbal communication abilities to interact professionally with clients and team members
Exceptional organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities efficiently
Proficiency in accounting and tax preparation software to support operational needs
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software tools
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred
Minimum of five years of relevant experience, including at least three years in a supervisory role
Ability to work in a desk-based environment, utilizing computers for extended periods
