We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Portland, Oregon. This long-term contract to hire position involves a dynamic mix of managing the full accounts receivable process and providing light reception support. Job Responsibility:
Provide reception desk coverage for the first 30 minutes of each day and during lunch or break periods as needed
Oversee the complete accounts receivable cycle, ensuring all processes are handled efficiently
Accurately record and post 500–1,000 customer payments per month, including checks, credit cards, and cash
Prepare and submit bank deposits while maintaining attention to detail
Issue monthly customer account statements and ensure timely communication
Conduct business-to-business collections for credit accounts, dedicating approximately 3–4 hours per week to this task
Address customer inquiries regarding accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly
Reconcile customer accounts and investigate any payment or transaction inconsistencies
Apply payments to the general ledger with precision and accuracy
Requirements:
Proven experience in accounts receivable processes, including payment posting and reconciliation
Strong skills in cash applications and handling financial transactions
Familiarity with commercial collections and credit account management
Ability to manage billing functions efficiently and with attention to detail
Experience in handling cash activity and preparing bank deposits
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and resolving account issues
Proficiency in using accounting software and general ledger systems
