Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Buffalo, New York. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing accounts receivable processes, including collections and cash applications, while ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of our organization in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility:

Process and manage accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accurate and timely recording of payments
Handle commercial collections by contacting customers to resolve outstanding balances
Apply cash payments to appropriate accounts and maintain updated records
Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely collections
Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies with attention to detail
Assist with preparing invoices and ensuring proper documentation for billing
Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve payment issues
Maintain organized and accurate financial records for audits and internal reviews
Provide excellent customer service when addressing client inquiries related to accounts receivable

Requirements:

Proven experience in accounts receivable, collections, and cash application processes
Strong understanding of commercial collections and billing functions
Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions
Ability to analyze financial data and resolve discrepancies
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial recordkeeping
Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
