We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Clerk to support financial operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Columbus, Ohio. This position will play a key role in maintaining accurate receivables activity across multiple U.S. facilities while helping keep billing, reporting, and month-end tasks on schedule. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with accounting systems and spreadsheets, and able to communicate effectively when following up on outstanding balances.
Job Responsibility
Manage accounts receivable activities for four U.S. facilities, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and consistently
Prepare and post journal entries, including payroll-related entries, to support complete and timely financial records
Create invoices during the month-end close process and ensure they are submitted promptly for downstream processing
Generate aging reports and customer statements, reviewing open balances and sharing updates with the appropriate stakeholders
Perform light commercial collections by following up on past-due accounts in a timely manner
Assist with audit support by organizing documentation and providing requested accounts receivable records
Reconcile account activity and investigate discrepancies to help maintain accurate customer balances
Work within accounting and inventory platforms, including systems such as Secor and, when applicable, Great Plains
Use Excel tools such as pivot tables to analyze receivables data and prepare reporting as needed
Requirements
Experience in accounts receivable, billing, cash application, or related accounting support work
Ability to prepare account reconciliations and review aging reports with strong attention to detail
Working knowledge of commercial collections practices and customer account follow-up
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to build and use pivot tables
Comfortable posting journal entries and supporting month-end accounting activities
Experience using accounting software
familiarity with Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics is helpful but not required
Ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting deadlines across several locations
