We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. This Contract to permanent position offers a unique opportunity to manage accounts receivable operations while also supporting legal administrative tasks. With responsibilities spanning financial operations and legal case management, this role requires exceptional organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Job Responsibility:
Process late charges and ensure timely communication of statements to clients
Send notifications for late rent and shut-off notices, while assisting clients in resolving account-related issues
Monitor and manage delinquent accounts, applying company practices to collect overdue payments
Address billing inquiries and provide efficient solutions to client concerns
Maintain legal files and ensure proper filing and documentation of case-related materials
Coordinate with attorneys to provide necessary information and updates on legal cases
Track progress of legal cases and collections, preparing documents and supporting discovery processes as required
Process citations and update legal case information with accuracy
Utilize organizational and project management skills to support both financial and legal operations
Make copies and prepare materials for legal proceedings, ensuring all documentation is complete
Requirements:
Strong ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information
Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures, including navigating county court systems
Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
Proficiency in project and case management to ensure smooth workflow
Intermediate knowledge of Excel for financial tracking and reporting purposes
Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients and legal professionals
Experience with property management software, such as Appfolio, is a plus
2-5 years of experience as a legal or administrative assistant preferred
