We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Billing Specialist to support revenue cycle and billing operations for a healthcare organization in Rochester, New York. The person in this role will help maintain accurate payment activity, support billing workflows, and contribute to timely account resolution across multiple financial processes.
Job Responsibility
Process incoming payments and record cash activity accurately within accounting and billing systems
Manage accounts receivable balances by reviewing open items, following up on outstanding amounts, and helping resolve payment discrepancies
Prepare and submit billing transactions with close attention to accuracy, timeliness, and payer-specific requirements
Support Medicaid billing activities and monitor claim-related issues to help improve reimbursement outcomes
Reconcile account activity by comparing payment records, billing details, and system data to identify and correct variances
Handle daily cash-related tasks, including posting receipts, tracking deposits, and maintaining organized financial documentation
Assist with operational updates to financial workflows or system-related processes as needed within the receivables function
Requirements
Experience working in accounts receivable, billing, or related accounting support roles
Proficiency with accounting software systems and excel
Working knowledge of accounts receivable processes, payment posting, and cash application activities
Background in billing functions, preferably within healthcare, hospital, or social assistance environments
Familiarity with Medicaid billing procedures and common reimbursement requirements
Ability to manage cash handling responsibilities with accuracy and strong attention to detail
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work in a deadline-driven setting
