We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Analyst to join our client on a Contract to hire basis in Contra Costa County. This role supports account analysis, billing activity, and payment application. The ideal candidate brings strong Excel skills, sound accounting knowledge, and the ability to manage high-volume financial data with accuracy and professionalism.
Job Responsibility:
Manage large and complex data in Microsoft Excel - using formulas
Record incoming payments
Prepare and issue invoices and resolve variances, shortages, or unresolved balances.
Transfer, receive, organize, and maintain electronic files and related records
Reconcile cash receipts against bank reporting and compile accurate totals for general ledger updates and month-end accounting support.
Investigate outstanding receivable balances, calculate related charges such as damages or adjustments, and assemble backup for billing support.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent hands-on accounting experience (AP and AR)
Prior experience in accounts receivable/payable, billing, reconciliations, or other accounting support functions.
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, functions, and handling large data sets
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and general office systems used for financial recordkeeping and reporting.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with employers and preparing clear financial documentation.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities in a deadline-driven environment.
High attention to detail with a consistent focus on accuracy in calculations, postings, and account review.
