Job Description

This role involves overseeing complex accounting tasks, ensuring financial accuracy, and providing leadership to the accounts payable team. The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to make independent decisions while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Job Responsibility

  • Supervise and guide technicians, analysts, and accountants within the accounts payable department
  • Review, approve, and prepare manual journal entries and account reconciliations impacting financial statements
  • Conduct training sessions to enhance team proficiency and ensure compliance with company standards
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to address financial inquiries and maintain compliance
  • Analyze complex financial problems and recommend effective solutions aligned with organizational objectives
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks to meet deadlines efficiently
  • Plan and organize work assignments while supporting management directives
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, health, safety, environmental, and sustainability standards
  • Travel as needed for business-related matters
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with at least five years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combined education and experience preferred
  • Proficient in accounts payable processes, including coding invoices, check runs, and ACH transactions
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences including management, coworkers, and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge required to perform job responsibilities
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal accounting regulations and guidelines
  • Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills
  • Advanced proficiency in PC-based business applications and enterprise resource planning (ERP) accounting systems
  • Leadership experience with excellent interpersonal and decision-making skills
