We are looking for a dedicated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, you will handle critical financial operations, including invoice processing, vendor management, and payment reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all accounts payable activities. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of a fast-paced organization while supporting essential accounting functions such as month-end close and audits.
Job Responsibility:
Process vendor invoices with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring timely payments
Perform 2-way and 3-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents
Review and verify invoices for correct coding, approvals, and compliance with company policies
Prepare and execute payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers
Maintain up-to-date vendor records and respond promptly to inquiries
Reconcile vendor statements and address discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting
Assist in month-end close activities, including accounts payable accruals and reconciliations
Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to resolve invoice and purchase order issues
Support audit requests by organizing and providing required documentation
Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounts payable processes and enhance efficiency
Requirements:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting roles
Familiarity with accounting systems such as Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, or similar platforms
Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles and practices
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic spreadsheet functions
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced work environment
Experience with vendor management and reconciliation processes
