We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Spokane, Washington. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to manage high-volume invoice processing and contribute to the accuracy of our financial operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills, ensuring smooth collaboration across departments and vendors.
Job Responsibility:
Process a high volume of vendor invoices, ensuring accurate coding, approvals, and timely entry into Microsoft Dynamics GP / Great Plains
Maintain and update vendor records, including W‑9 collection, address verification, and banking details
Prepare weekly payment runs, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire payments, while ensuring proper documentation
Reconcile accounts payable subledger to the general ledger and assist with month‑end close tasks, such as accruals and journal entries
Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies by coordinating with internal teams and vendors
Support internal control compliance by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests
Assist with other accounting functions as needed, including cross-functional workflows involving payroll and accounts payable
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in accounts payable or related accounting roles
Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics GP / Great Plains and familiarity with automated payment methods such as ACH preferred
Strong knowledge of invoice coding and payment processing, including check runs and wire transfers
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage high volumes of invoices accurately and efficiently
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address discrepancies and ensure compliance
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with vendors and internal teams
Ability to handle month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations
