Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this role, you will oversee and execute critical accounts payable tasks while ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment within the retail industry.

Job Responsibility:

Process and verify invoices with accuracy, ensuring timely payments to vendors
Manage account coding and reconcile discrepancies to maintain financial integrity
Utilize accounting software systems, including ERP platforms, to streamline workflows
Handle accounts payable functions, such as accrual accounting and auditing, to ensure compliance
Monitor and execute Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions effectively
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve payment issues and maintain vendor relationships
Implement financial controls to prevent errors and ensure adherence to procedures
Generate and review reports for accounts payable activities to support decision-making
Assist in the integration and optimization of systems like Concur for expense management
Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing necessary documentation.

Requirements:

Proven experience in accounts payable and related accounting functions
Proficiency in accounting software systems, including ERP platforms
Strong knowledge of account coding and accrual accounting principles
Familiarity with tools such as Concur and ADP for financial services
Ability to manage Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions efficiently
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
