We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join a healthcare organization in Atlanta, Georgia. This contract opportunity has the potential to become permanent and is ideal for someone who is detail oriented and can quickly contribute to daily payables operations and support accurate financial processing. The role requires recent, hands-on experience using Workday for accounts payable activities and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibility:
Review and enter vendor invoices in Workday, applying accurate coding and routing items for appropriate approval
Oversee day-to-day payable activities, including matching documents, coordinating disbursements, and addressing exceptions in a timely manner
Maintain organized payment records and account details while following internal controls and established financial procedures
Partner with department contacts and external suppliers to investigate and resolve invoice, payment, and account discrepancies
Prepare account reconciliations and support reporting needs related to accounts payable performance and outstanding items
Help ensure payable operations remain compliant with company standards as well as applicable state and federal guidelines
Contribute to bank reconciliation and expense-related support tasks when needed, including coordination with Concur Expense processes
Requirements:
At least 2 years of recent experience in an accounts payable position with direct responsibility for invoice and payment processing
Proven hands-on proficiency with Workday, specifically for accounts payable transactions and workflow management. Candidates without Workday experience will not be considered
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
Experience with invoice coding, account coding, vendor payments, and related reconciliation activities
Ability to identify inconsistencies, research root causes, and resolve issues with a high degree of accuracy
Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across internal teams and with vendors
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment
